Beyond The Basic Software
Beyond- the- Basic Software tools are tools that can be used within the classroom, and there are had additional materials that basic software tools do not have. These tools serve better productivity, efficiency, accuracy and have more support for interaction and sharing. These tools can be easily intergraded within the classroom and class units. There are six types of BBPTs: material generators, data collection and analysis tools, graphic tools, planning and organizing tools, research and reference tools and lastly content-area tools. Three trends that are related to BBPTs are availability on web, cloud and mobile device, software suits and safety for students.
These tools can be easily intergraded into the classroom because these tools can be used for research and organizing. A teacher could ask students to use one of the tools; an example is Evernote, to take notes during classroom or another tool to use as a study tool. These tools can be applied for Bloom’s Taxonomy levels remembering, understanding, applying and even analyzing when students are creating assignments and projects but also as study tools. There are several web based BBPTs that are easily accessible to students such as Quizlet. Quizlet is a good study tool as it allow students to create flashcards and the website has an option to create online games and quizzes for students to study with.
